More Shops to Like Summer Shoutouts

Summer has us in a shopping mood, and we just couldn’t resist showing off a few more “shops to like” to you. In this edition, we’re skipping from Pennsylvania to Portland and then all the way to Australia.

First up, Sunshine Art + Design’s The Paperie. We are delighted to count this magnificent space in our list of stockists. Sunshine Art + Design combines a gallery which hosts art exhibitions and special events with a small, seamlessly-curated, chic paperie. Other paper products they carry include Whit & Whistle, Hammerpress, Emily McDowell Illustration, Kiss and Punch and many more.

Next up, an elegant gem of a shop: Alder & Co. in Portland, Oregon. Other than being a place where you would be happy to get lost forever, Alder & Co. has been featured in some of our favorite magazines and blogs, including Kinfolk (photo credit below) and Design*Sponge. Simplistic, beautiful and streamlined, Alder & Co. is filled to the brim with creative clothing, housewares, gifts and paper products.

Altiplano and Masha
Last but not least, the very elegant Altiplano, which operates a flagship store located in the warm and inviting Brattleboro, Vermont. Coupling with boots on the ground in Guatemala, Altiplano is “committed to creating innovative products that support indigenous communities and the environment,” by bringing fair trade and employment to the Guatemalan Highlands. We are honored to be a part of their mission and flattered to be included in their list of talented handmade artists and designers.

I love you mama

“I love you Mama” has been a leitmotif of Masha’s entire artistic career. She’s lucky to have been raised by uber-talented, creative, brave mom (you can read about Galina in Artists We Love) and grandma and she forever thanks them for the painting + fashion genes (and for toting her around in her extra chubby baby phase). Since this year is already zooming by, we thought we’d get ready for the mother of all card holidays ASAP with a small tribute to these incredible ladies and remind you to honor the super-women in your life. Let’s not forget, hand-writing a beautiful card for mother’s day, or any day, never goes out of style – we hope you enjoy our sentimental mix below.

I love you Mama

1. We were inspired by Dolce & Gabbana‘s mother-themed Fall 2015 collection and imagined our keepsakes spilling out of one of their whimsical “I Love You Mama” bags. You can preorder one at Neiman Marcus.

2. Photos from the Soviet era are certainly brightened by Masha’s mom’s and grandma’s beauty and handiwork – almost every outfit depicted was made by them.

3. Bring your mama a sweet and timeless surprise of gratitude with our Kangaroo Mom.

4. Celebrate the springy beauty of a mother-to-be with our Baby Bump.

5. Our new Monkey Hug celebrates parenthood and cuddles. Send your love along with this cozy pair nestled in exotic blooms and melt your recipient’s heart.

6. Our new and lavish Peonies Beautiful puts it simply: go with the floral and stop to smell the blooms. Like a fresh bouquet, this card will beautify your mama’s day.

HAPPY 2015! YEAR IN REVIEW

We hope you celebrated the birth of 2015 with merriment and in high style! We’ve got a lot planned for this year in our mission to elevate the art of correspondence with much watercolor mischief, and that all begins with a quick glance back. 2014 was a busy one here at Masha D’yans Design. In case you missed them, venture below for some monthly highlights:

January’s highlight was our new fabrics with Clothworks. Medieval princesses and dreamy unicorns definitely made Bloom our favorite collection to date.
